We are a family-run independent business owned and run by Laurie McKenna and his son, Seamus. Both are qualified hearing aid audiologists, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Laurie and Seamus follow a programme of continuing professional development and work closely with all the major manufacturers, to ensure they are aware of all the latest technological developments and offers within the hearing aid industry.

We cover multiple locations across Devon and into Cornwall with clinics in Teignmouth, Seaton, Budleigh, Sidmouth, Helston and Axminster.

Our services include Hearing Health Checks, Earwax Removal and Hearing Protection.

At Peninsula, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile to care for you and your hearing. If you have any questions or want to know more, please do get in touch.

We are always happy to help and welcome everyone through our door so come in and enjoy a coffee in our recently refurbished practice.

Laurie was originally a teacher working both in the UK and South Africa. In 2002 he decided on a change of career and retrained as a Hearing Aid Dispenser. He has worked for several of the major national Companies. In 2009 he decided to set up his own company, putting the interests of the patients first, as he felt that this was not always the case with the larger national companies. He absolutely loves the freedom this gives him and is at his happiest helping his clients find hearing solutions that are best suited to them and their needs. He has a hearing loss himself and wears hearing aids, so fully understands the difficulties faced by his patients The company has grown steadily and we would like to think that as a team we have an excellent reputation locally, and a loyal and happy client base, to the extent that we have been recommended by local GP practices and even our local ENT departments.

Health & Personal:

All sports but particularly Rugby is Laurie's passion. He was Captain of his local rugby club in 1978 (my sons think that it was back in the days when the shorts reached halfway down your shins and everybody had a hairstyle with a centre parting, I still do!) but nowadays am just happy to watch and support our local Exeter Chiefs. Now that I have had a new bionic knee fitted, I am looking forward to walks around our beautiful county of Devon with my wife and the family dog, Alf!
